Steps to Transfer a Subaccount Between Agencies in HighLevel
- Last Updated April 14, 2025
If you're planning to move your sub-account to another agency, or sub-account within the same agency, you can do so by following these steps:
1. Sub-account
If you’re moving the sub-account to a different agency, create a snapshot of the sub-account you want to transfer. This will allow you to transfer the website, custom fields, custom values, workflows, contacts and their data, and any other settings you have in the sub-account.
2. Website
If your website is hosted on a different sub-account, you’ll need to add the domain to your new sub-account.
Once the domain is added to your new sub-account, we’ll need to verify the IDX wrapper used on your IDX website - especially if you modify the navigation bar or footer links. In that case, we’ll simply regenerate the wrapper to ensure everything works correctly and the changes are properly reflected.
3. Configuration
If you’re using the GHL dashboard, you’ll need to re-add the connection to the new sub-account.
-
Remove the existing connection on the LeadConnector Advanced Settings.
Here’s a video showing the steps: - Run the setup wizard for the GHL dashboard to create or map custom fields and values on this page: GHL Dashboard.
- You’ll also want to re-add the dashboard as a custom menu link.
- If you’re using the IDX Button, make sure to add the code snippet to the new GHL Agency settings: GHL Agency settings.
4. Contacts and information
Once your new sub-account is ready and you’ve migrated your contacts and their data, let us know. We’ll need to update some records in our database for the GHL dashboard to function correctly. This is especially important if you’re using the IDX Button or the Email/Call/SMS links, as we need to reset entries related to the sub-account ID and existing contact IDs.
