Prerequisites: Before beginning the IDX sign-up process, ensure that you have the following:

  • Domain Name: You must have a domain name ready for your website where the IDX integration will be implemented. If you do not have a domain yet, you can refer to GoDaddy to purchase one.
  • Real Estate Agent: You must be a licensed real estate agent.
  • MLS Membership: You must be an active member of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
  1. Complete the IDX Sign-Up Form

    Visit IDX Broker Sign-Up Page

    Fill in all the required fields on the sign-up form, including your name, email, and brokerage details, and MLS.

    Double-check the information entered for accuracy

    Enter your payment information. The card placed here will be billed monthly.

  2. Receive Initial Account Information

    After submitting the sign-up form, you will receive an email from IDX Broker, titled “IDX Broker Account Information”

    What's Included in the Email:

    • Account ID
    • Account Type
    • Username
    • Password Setup Link
    • API Key
    • Access Code

    Action Required Follow the link in the email to set up your password. Store your Account ID, API Key, and Access Code in a secure location.

    NOTE:As soon as you receive this email you can access https://idxaddons.com/ with the API key assigned to your account.

  3. MLS Approval Instructions

    You will receive a second email containing instructions on how to obtain approval from your MLS.

    • Electronic Signature Request:Instructions will include a request for an electronic signature from both you and your broker. This is required for IDX Broker to process your MLS integration.
    • Action Required: Carefully read the instructions and complete the electronic signature request as soon as possible to avoid delays..
  4. Broker’s Electronic Signature

    After you sign, IDX Broker will automatically send an electronic signature request to their broker.

    Action Required by Broker: Your broker must sign the electronic document to proceed. You may want to follow up with your broker to ensure timely completion.

  5. IDX Broker Submits Forms to MLS

    After receiving the necessary signatures, IDX Broker will submit the completed forms to the MLS, and await a Final Approval notice from them. You will receive a confirmation email:

    NOTE: The timeline for MLS approval may vary. During this period, the IDX data will be locked, meaning the IDX feed will not be publicly accessible on their website. This is a standard security measure to ensure compliance with MLS rules and regulations:

  6. MLS Approval Confirmation

    Once the MLS approves your application, IDX Broker will remove the lock on your account.

    You will receive an email from IDX Broker confirming that the MLS process is complete. And the IDX feed will now be publicly available on your website:

  7. IDX Sign-Up Complete

    Congratulations! Your IDX Broker account is now active and fully operational.
